Narrator Lillian Thayer draws listeners into this contemporary romance. After years away, Sadie Miller returns home to Copper Ridge, Oregon, where the first person she runs into is Eli Garrett, part- time rancher and full-time lawman. He's the one who arrested her as a teenager. Now an adult, Sadie has come back to open a bed-and-breakfast on Eli's ranch. Thayer captures Eli's husky voice and expertly delivers the snappy dialogue between Eli and Sadie. After Sadie's difficult past, Thayer has the listener rooting for a happy ending.
