Narrator Lillian Thayer returns listeners to Yates's Copper Ridge series. In this contemporary romance, bar owner Ace Thompson hires a woman who is estranged from her wealthy family and in need of a job. Thayer expertly voices Ace's country twang and Sierra West's smooth upper-class accent. Thayer draws the listener into the emotional conflicts between the hero and heroine. An added bonus is a novella, also set in Copper Ridge. Casey James, a drifter, ends up working in Ace's bar, where she meets rancher Aiden Crawford.
